2019 Golden Globes Entertainment
This year’s hosts are Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg. Not only does the award show recognize the best in television, but also in film. Because this show is the beginning of Award season; everyone has their eyes on who will emerge as the front-runner for the Oscars.
Since Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, this is the first time two people will be sharing hosting duties. Both Oh and Samberg should provide plenty of laughs and less on political matters. Both have said they will be focusing more on how the culture is changing with films such as Black Panther and Crazy Rich Asians. To read more, check out my Crazy Rich Asians Movie Review post.
Personally, I’m excited to see the achievements of art and culture celebrated this year.
2019 Golden Globes Fashions – Women
Because everyone was dressed in black last year as a sign of solidarity; it was nice to see the fashions return to color. This year, Time’s Up is making less of a statement. They’re requesting everyone to wear ribbons and bracelets that say TIMESUPx2. Consequently, the TIMESUPx2 is a reference for the second year and calls for more Women to be in leadership positions.
This year, we can expect the question of “Who are you wearing”? Already, many actors have said they will be more comfortable discussing their style.
With Lady Gaga being a front-runner for her performance in a Star is Born; it was no surprise all eyes were on her tonight. To read more about Lady Gaga, check out my A Star is Born Movie Review post.
Of course, we expect nothing but the unexpected from Lady Gaga. And, once again she didn’t disappoint.
Constance Wu captured our heart in Crazy Rich Asians. At the same time, Wu is one of the first Asian actresses to receive a nomination in decades.
Pantone Color of the year, “Living Coral” was embraced by Jameela Jamil as seen below. To read more on Pantone’s color of the year, be on the lookout for my post.
In conclusion, the 2019 Golden Globes had a positive message of celebration and positive changes.
As always, I welcome your comments.
