So, the dog days of Summer are here. At the same time, this time period starts shortly after the Summer Solstice and ironically coincides with the rising of Sirius – the Dog Star. Because Sirius is behind the sun; it appears before the sunrise in the Summertime; hence the name a.k.a. Dog Days of Summer.
Dog Days of Summer Tips
Although the unbearable heat is upon us; you can still put together killer styles to wear to keep you cool. Indeed, it is hot outside. Whether you work from an office or from home; I have put together some great styles to wear to beat the heat. When it comes to reaching for something to wear; the dress below is ideal for when it’s unbearable. From Lilly Pulitzer, this style is made in a french terry fabric. So, not only is the fabric breathable; but this dress has an UPF 50 which will help protect you from a sunburn.
Another easy breezy style is the throw on linen and cotton blend dress below. This is the perfect dress to wear for daytime or a night out.
Of course, the key to any outfit you wear is to find a fabric that keeps you cool. Be sure to look for cotton, linen and silk.
In essence, the Summer season is hot; but the following tips will keep you feeling cool.
- Drink a lot of water.
- If you have pets, make sure you keep them safe. In addition, keep your pet in the shade and never leave your pet in a hot vehicle.
- Make sure you begin your day with a cool shower.
