National read a book day is today. Similarly to Book Lovers Day, this day is all about actually finishing a book in a day. Be sure to check out my Celebrate Book Lovers Day post for a few suggestions on what to read.
National Read a Book Day
Since I’m an avid reader, I love getting lost in a good story. So, are you ready to sit back, relax and get lost? Whether you like reading autobiographies, fiction, non-fiction, comics, literature, magazines, romance or suspense; there is something for everyone.
Of course, reading is about finding something to reduce stress. In my opinion, I love immersing myself in a good story. When I sit down to read; I tend to lose track of time – do you?
Recently, I finished reading the three books below in the last week.
Whether you’re going on vacation or have visited Martha’s Vineyard; you will enjoy Goats in the Time of Love. This novel will transport you back to spending Summer on the Vineyard with romance and food. One of the best things about this book is you really feel you know the characters.
In summary, this book finishes with recipes. So, get ready to get lost in this delicious story.
When Jennifer was on a job interview, she stumbled and met Alex. Shortly, after she receives an unusual job offer. And, there begins the story. This is a fast read. Also, if you liked Fifty Shades of Grey; you will enjoy this story. After Volume 1, there are four other stories in this series.
Hence, a movie is in the works.
On the same day, I finished Annihilate me; I started reading Playing at Love. So, if you’re looking for chic lit; this is the book for you. While I was reading this story; it reminded me of another book I read prior. If you like tennis, be sure to check out my Tennis Love The Singles Game post.
Phew! A lot of reading this past week. Next book I will be reading is below. This book looks to be highly entertaining and my type of novel.
As always, I welcome your comments.
Happy National Read a Book Day!
