July is Social Wellness Month. In the first place, it is important to take care of yourself as well as grow and nurture your relationships with others.
Social Wellness Month
First and foremost, this month was founded by the counseling group, Words of Wellness. In fact, the meaning of this month is to increase the awareness of how important social interaction is to achieve happiness. Indeed, there are many different forms of health. When you think of your health, what first may come to mind is your diet and exercise. However, health also refers to other things as well, such as our emotional health. Celebrate Social Wellness Month
With everyone leading such busy lives nowadays, it is important to make time for your friends and family. Meanwhile, social wellness is about spending time with ourselves as well as growing our relationship with others. Visit my Friendship Makes Life Sparkle post. Although many of us spend a lot of time on-line, you can still interact with people by posting updates and making comments on your social media accounts.
For instance, the following are a few things you can do to celebrate this month.
- Reach out to someone you lost touch with. Now is a good time to let someone know they have been in your thoughts. For example, plan to meet for lunch, drinks or a walk.
- Next, join an activity or club. Find something that interests you. For example, painting, cooking, fitness, dance lessons or join a book club.
- Not only is social interaction about connecting with people, but also with animals. If you have an animal, devote some extra TLC. If you don’t have an animal, you can visit a zoo or pet store.
- Volunteer to an organization.
No doubt, Social Wellness month should remind you of the importance of strengthening your bond with others.
