If you're in search of the perfect self tanning products, then scroll below for the best products. Of course, we all want that sun-kissed look. Self Tanning Products So, each year there are a lot of new products that promise to give you a suntan. But, do they work? For the best overall golden glow, try Decleor Aroma Comfort Gradual Glow. In the first place, this product doesn't have a bad odor or leave your skin looking orange. Meanwhile, after using just one time, you will already get a glow. Another great product is the sunless tanning lotion below. If you're looking to get dark, this lotion is a gradual builder. Additionally, the lotion contains all natural and organic ingredients. With skin cancer on the rise, it is important to tan safely. Who has time to sit in the hot sun for hours? Not only are you spending a lot of time to get the color you want, but you're also exposing your skin to harmful UVA/UVB rays. As you continue to use this product, you will see the color deepen each day. In addition to the lotion above, I recommend having a good self tanning mitt. First, this mitt is great to use when applying lotion, spray gel, or cream. When you're using this mitt, you can easily use this with either hand. Also, the thumb area in the mitt gives you better control so the mitt doesn't slip from your grip. Self Tanning Products - Towelette If you want something quick and easy, try using a self-tanning towelette. By using a towelette, I'm able to tan fast. The full body tanning towel below is a great product to use before vacationing. Furthermore, the results from this towel last approximately 10 days. Indeed, you will look like you just returned from a day at the beach.   Also, the self tanning wipes are another great product to use. Hence, the wipes don't leave any patches. As you continue to use this, you will see your skin continue to get deeper in color. Conclusion To sum up, the best thing about [...]

Skin Cancer Detection Month May 2017

By |2018-04-02T15:48:48-05:00May 9th, 2017|Health|5 Comments

May is skin cancer detection and prevention month. By the same token, skin cancer is an important topic for me as I share my story with you. Skin Cancer Detection So, a few years ago I noticed a tiny brown spot. For anyone who knows me is aware that I tend to go to the Doctors for the smallest thing. Of course, this was one of those instances. In the first place, I was told that this spot wasn't cancerous. But, I was also told to keep a close watch on it. Of course, I stayed on top of this during yearly doctors appointments. After having a year-end appointment with my Dermatologist, we once again discussed this spot. Because she thought the color changed, she suggested a biopsy. For fear that something wasn't right, I anxiously awaited my Doctor's telephone call. When I received a phone call less than a week later telling me I needed surgery, that was a scare for me. Above all, I was anxious and wanted to get this taken care of right away. Skin Cancer Surgery So, off I went to have the surgery. When I went back approximately a week later to have the stitches taken out, I was told it was an atypical mole.  I breathed with a sigh of relief. Well, then came New Years and imagine my surprise when I received a telephone call a couple of days after. I was informed there were cancer cells and I had to have additional surgery as soon as possible. With this in mind, I immediately conducted research for the best Surgeon for me to work with. Based on the Mass General Hospital's recommendation, I met with an Oncology Surgeon out of Mass Eye and Ear.  After meeting with the Surgeon, he recommended that the surgery be conducted in a two-part procedure. Because I took this Surgeon's advice, I had the surgery and the margins all came back clear. Although the surgery is behind me, I am now following up every three months with my Dermatologist. Recommendations Given that so many people [...]

National Skin Care Awareness Month

By |2017-10-18T07:39:31-05:00September 15th, 2016|Beauty, Health|0 Comments

September is National Skin Care Awareness Month.  Due to people looking for solutions to skin care problems, National Skin Care Month was created.  Renee Rouleau started this organization to help individuals get better care for their skin.  Since we are leaving the Summer months, there is no better time to pay attention to your sunscreen and skin regime. National Skin Care Are you caring properly for your skin?  While many individuals think they no longer need sunscreen, they're wrong.  Ultra Violet Rays don't get weaker when the temperature gets cooler.  Wear sunscreen and moisturizer all year long. Since this month is devoted to spreading the word, let's take care of our skin. Healthier Skin Tips While we all want healthier looking skin, the following are ways to achieve this. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. Use sunscreen all year long. Shop for good skin care products.  Use the products you purchase regularly. Visit an Aesthetician or Dermatologist. Treat yourself to a facial. Take matters into your hands.  Check your skin head to toe.  By doing this, you will be aware of any changes. Wash your skin regularly. Take off any make up products. Usually a good skin care regime shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.  Washing, drying, moisturizing and adding sun screen should be part of your daily routine.  When you care for your skin, you will feel better overall. Worst Skin Mistakes Washing your skin with bar soap will strip your skin of all water.  Due to binders having high pH, they are drying for many skin types.  Do not use harsh products to control oil.  While you may feel your skin is tight, your skin will feel oily later on.  Toners are important to give your skin the water and hydration it needs. Use an alcohol free toner every time you wash your face. Exfoliation is beneficial to removing clogged pores, blackheads and acne.  But when it comes to exfoliation, less is more.  Hence, by over exfoliating, you skin can become red and flaky.  Never pick at a skin blemish.  Most clear up within a [...]
